Louise Osborne (former PhD student) is now a Strategic Analyst for Land and Water Australia
 
Sharon Downes (former ARC Postdoc) is now a big-cheese Research Scientist at the CSIRO
 
Paul Doughty (former ARC Postdoc) is now the Curator of Terrestrial Vertebrates at the Western Australian Museum
 
 
Postdoctoral Fellowships:
 
Matt Morgan has won a two year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin. He will be working with Prof. David Canatella and Prof. David Hillis on the higher level phylogenetics of frogs, which is part of the NSF AmphibiaTree project.
 
Vimoksalehi Lukoschek has won a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the lab of Prof. John Avise to continue her work on the phylogeography of sea snakes.

David Chapple (former PhD student) was an Allan Wilson Centre Postdoctoral Fellow for two years, based in the labs of Peter Ritchie and Charlie Daugherty at Victoria University. Kiwi Dave worked on the phylogeny of NZ skinks and other related things. David is now an ARC Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Dr. Jane Melville at Museum Victoria.
 
Jessica Stapley (former PhD student) won a short term fellowship to the USA from the Australian Academy of Sciences to work in Prof. Andy Sih's lab. Jess then did a one year National Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in Martin Whiting's lab in South Africa. Jess then worked in Panama for a one year STRI Smithsonian Postdoc with John Christy and she is now based in the UK.
 
Bob Wong (former PhD student) was a Sir Keith Murdoch Postdoctoral Fellow at Woods Hole/Boston University in the USA for the year following his PhD. Bob is now in Helsinki, Finland for a year on a Centre for International Mobility Postdoctoral Fellowship to work with Kai Lindstrom and after that Bob will start his three year Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mark Elgar's lab at the University of Melbourne. Bob had to turn down a UNSW Vice-Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to take his ARC. Bob is now a Lecturer at the Monash University, "The Wong Lab in the Right Place"
 
Nicki Mitchell (former Visiting Fellow) did a LaTrobe University Postdoctoral Fellowship after leaving our lab and she is now on her Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Western Australia in Dale Robert's lab.
 
 
Conference talk prizes:
 
Mitzy Pepper (former Honours student) won the Best Honours Talk Prize at the 2006 Australian Herpetological Society conference based on her honours research.
 
Kate Hodges (former Honours student) got an honourable mention for her talk at the 2005 Australian Herpetological Society conference based on her honours research. Kate also won Best Student Talk at the 2004 Australian Genetics Society based on her honours research
 
David Chapple (former PhD student) was a finalist in the 2004 Herpetologists' League Robert G. Jaeger Student Award for Graduate Research and he won some cash and a whole lot of old issues of Herpetologica.
 
Matt Morgon (PhD student) won the Best Student Talk prize at the 2004 Australian Society of Herpetologists conference.
 
Bob Wong (former PhD student) won the Best Student Talk (shared) at the Ecology, Evolution and Systematics Postgraduate Conference in 2003. He also won the Best Student Talk (shared) at the Australasian Society for the Study of Animal Behaviour Conference in 2002. He also won the Best Student Paper at the 1999 Australian Society of Herpetologists meeting.
 
Jessica Stapley (former PhD student) won the Best Student Talk (shared) at the Ecology, Evolution and Systematics Postgradaute Conference in 2003. She also got an honourable mention for the Henri Seibert Award for Best Student Talk at the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles International Conference in the USA in 2002.
 
 
Other exciting stuff:
Yours Truly won the Vice Chancelor's Award for Excellence in Supervision in 2006 (one per year across the University)
 
Yours Truly was one of three Plenary Speakers at the Australian Society of Herpetologists conference in Melbourne in April 2006.
 
Yours Truly was one of five Plenary Speakers at the Fifth World Congress of Herpetology in Stellenbosch, South Africa in June 2005.
