The course will be assessed in
three parts:
- Class test (3 April at 10am)
- Final exam (during mid-year exam period)
- Fieldtrip assignments (Wednesday 9 May at 5pm)
The class decided that the relative weightings of these components will be:
Class test
35%
Final exam
35%
Fieldtrip assignment 15%
Fieldtrip test 15%
COMPULSORY COMPONENTS OF THE COURSE
If a student is going to attend the fieldtrip (30 March to 1 April), then it is compulsory for them to attend the Preparation Practical (23 March). It is
essential that you attend it. Failure to do so will mean that the student is not allowed to attend the fieldtrip.
If a student cannot attend the fieldtrip (for a legitimate reason agreed to by Pat Backwell and the Head of the School), then they will be expected to attend
12 Friday afternoon practicals
throughout the course.
See the BoZo website "School Policy on Written Assessment"
http://www.anu.edu.au/BoZo/undergrad/policy.php). Copying the work of another student, talking, or any form of cheating during the examination, class tests or practical exam will not be tolerated. When cheating is detected, ALL participants will receive 0%. It is therefore important that you protect your work from copiers. No books, notes or other material may be used in the class tests or theory exam.
