Research Interests
Dr. Nanni Concu is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR) at the Australian National University (ANU). Nanni coordinates the Tropical River and Coastal Knowledge (TRaCK) research project 6.3, with the help of Dr. Jennifer Koenig and the supervision of Prof. Jon Altman. The TRaCK project aims at: a) estimating the needs and costs of environmental service delivery in Indigenous community by Indigenous residents; b) assessing local capabilities, and skills and training requirements; c) investigating institutional barriers. The goal of the project is the development of strategies for Natural-Resource-based economic growth in Northern Territory.
Nanni also works on researching models of preferences formation and behavioural drivers. This field of research includes several economic theories and methods such as institutional economics or complexity theory, that are usually grouped into the so-called “heterodox economics”.
Nanni’s other research interests include the assessment of preferences and values for environmental goods by using established economic techniques such as Choice Modelling or Contingent Valuation.
