CAEPR Publications
CAEPR is committed to disseminating its research as widely as possible through print and electronic publication. Since 1991, we have undertaken an active publications program through the CAEPR Discussion Paper series and the CAEPR Research Monograph series, with Professor Jon Altman as series editor. In 1999 CAEPR initiated a third avenue for publications, the CAEPR Working Paper series. In addition, CAEPR Topical Issues present less formal documents dealing with contemporary issues and debates in Indigenous affairs.
For information on ordering print copies of CAEPR Research Monographs and Discussion Papers, see the Publications Sales page.
Discussion Papers
The CAEPR Discussion Paper series (ISSN 1036-1774) enables research findings to be diseminated without the delays associated with publication in academic journals. Discussion Papers are internally and externally refereed. There are currently over 280 Discussion Papers listed on the CAEPR website, and all are available for free download in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.
Working Papers
The CAEPR Working Paper series (ISSN 1442-3871), often comprising papers of a more technical nature, are only published here on the CAEPR web site. CAEPR working papers are available for free download in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.
Research Monographs
The CAEPR Research Monograph series (ISSN 1036-6962) publishes collated research results and/or analysis of policy on major themes or issues, the proceedings of workshops or conferences, or reports on major pieces of consultancy research. All CAEPR Research Monographs can be viewed on this website, and are available for free download in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. To purchase printed copies of monographs see our Publications Sales section. Beginning in 2004, CAEPR Research Monographs are published through ANU E Press for print-on-demand sale and for free download in PDF, HTML and mobile device formats.
Topical Issues
CAEPR Topical Issues present a broad range of documents by CAEPR staff relating to contemporary issues and debates in Indigenous Affairs. They include media opinion pieces, articles, submissions, interviews, sound recordings and links to external documents.
Issue Briefs 1996-1997
When a 1996 reader survey indicated interest in summaries of key research results, CAEPR Issue Briefs were developed and targeted specifically to the Indigenous community sector and other public audiences.
