As you may already know, a major objective of the
National Thai Studies Centre is to maintain and facilitate a national
network of educators, students, members of the public and government,
community and private sector organizations who are interested in the
development of the study of Thailand in Australia. To this end, the
National Thai Studies Centre is currently updating its mailing list and
database. The National Thai Studies mailing list is our primary way to
contact those that have expressed an interest in knowing about the Thai
Studies activities that are advertised through the Centre. This
information includes conference notices, employment opportunities and
information about the annual Thai Update. If you would like to be part
of our mailing list, there is an opportunity for you to indicate this on
the questionnaire.
The information collated in the database would be
used primarily for connecting people. It would, for example, direct
people and organisations who have enquiries in a specific area to an
appropriate person, tell researchers who else is researching in the same
area, let people to know what businesses in the community are Thai
related or have a specific interest in Thai graduates, and what
institutions offer Thai language courses etc. The database will be made
more effective and available by placing a version of it on our website.
Your inclusion in this web-based database is optional. You may indicate
that you wish your details to be placed only in the offline database
that exists in the National Thai Studies Centre. We would be grateful if
you would fill out the following preliminary questionnaire about your
and/or your institution. After receiving your completed questionnaire,
further, more specific, questionnaires may be sent to you or your
institution based on your responses. This will allow us to establish an
Australia wide network, and to more efficiently facilitate, support and
promote Thai studies in Australia.
This form is made available by the university and all
information entered is secure. However, if you would prefer not to fill
out an online form, a downloadable version can also be found at the
above web address, or alternatively, we can email you the form. The
forms can then be emailed or posted back to us at the centre, according
to your preference. We emphasise that your participation in this
questionnaire is voluntary and you are able to withdraw at any time by
contacting us. Should you know of any others who would be interested in
becoming part of this database, or in our mailing list, please refer
them to the above link, or get them to contact us. If you have any
questions, either about the questionnaire, or about the National Thai
Studies Centre itself, please do not hesitate to contact us.
